Planning with the Texas Performance Standards Project
This facilitated online course meets the requirement for a six hour update for teachers who serve gifted and talented students.

The Texas Performance Standards Project (TPSP) is a TEA online resource created to support gifted and talented teachers across the state of Texas.  In this course we will explore the website to build our understanding of the resource and how it can be utilized with gifted students.  We will plan to implement a task with students in our classroom.  We will also relate the tasks from this resource to the Project Based Learning method of teaching.

This is a facilitated course that will include graded submissions related to the development of a task.  Teachers that participate in this course will develop plans to implement a TPSP task in their classroom and receive feedback from a specialist before implementation.

Modules in this course will include:

  • An introduction to the Texas Performance Standards Project (TPSP)

  • Planning with TPSP

  • Making Connections:  TPSP and PBL (Project Based Learning)
