Part 10: The Challenges of Identifying High Functional Individuals with ASD, the participant will be able to discuss:
  • The adverse effect on educational performance for high functioning individuals who do not receive services
  • The implications of assuming high functioning individuals don’t need services because they excel in academics
  • Misconceptions and examples of “unintentional neglect”
  • The social and behavioral skill deficits that may warrant evaluation
