Self-Differentiated Writing through Adventure Boards - K-8

Come experience innovative writing instruction using a new self-differentiating tool, the Adventureboard.

This workshop will guide you through the individual instructional modules of the literary genre  and demonstrate how to use the Adventureboard in integrated reading and writing lessons. Attendees will walk away with a complete class set of the Adventureboard and knowledge of how to guide students of all skill levels to produce engaging literary stories with complex plots and interesting characters. Not only will participation in the model lessons boost confidence in implementation of the system, but participants will have fun in the process. The very best part of this tool is that it works for both struggling and advanced students within the same classroom without requiring additional resources or preparation time.

Teachers and instructional coaches will leave with a literacy model for studying and writing in the literary genre. Administrators and curriculum leaders will learn how to maximize use of this resource across grade levels in a campus or district.

Participants will receive a complete room instructional set of the Adventure boards consisting of an oversized teacher Adventure board and icons, desktop student Adventure boards and icons (10 sets), and a step-by-step 32 page paperback teacher guide. ($120 value)
