Challenging behaviors exist in every school district daily, however they vary in intensity and frequency which affects appropriateness of interventions. A strong tiered approach to delivering social emotional and behavioral supports requires data matching the intensity and topography of inappropriate behaviors. This data forms the nucleus of the preventative, proactive, and behavior change strategies necessary for student and teacher success. This session will provide a step by step analysis of a multiple gate approach to RTI behavior data collection. Examples, case studies, and legal implications will be provided to help participants navigate through a seamless and research supported behavior RTI process that, if implemented with fidelity, will result in positive behavior change.
