College and Career: Leading Students to a Clear Picture

The Counselor Cooperative holds four annual network meetings for secondary counselors. The meetings will offer information and training around the four components of the Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program and networking opportunities with fellow counselors.

In the morning, Randi Roanhaus, MA, will present "Birthdays and Diamonds: All Invited for Career Counseling" which will combine the Career Diamond with the Birthday Method to give counselors a visual, auditory, and kinesthetic tool to demonstrate the process and stages of self and career identity. The Birthday Method provides a fun structure for students’ expressions of who they are as unique individuals while exposing their true selves and career identities. The Career Diamond allows students to easily understand their own self-determination and the need for evolving self-exploration throughout their development.

In the afternoon, Austin experts in the field will present "Fresh Start: Successfully Transitioning from High School to College" to share lesson plans with proven strategies to strengthen skills students need to be success in college and beyond.

This workshop is a part of the Counselor Support Services Cooperative; please use your promotional code when registering.
