A Practical Guide to ELPS and PLDs

This course is for anyone interested in delivering better, more comprehensible instruction to the ELLs they serve. That includes bilingual teachers, gen ed. teachers, secondary content-area teachers, and anyone else with ELLs in their classroom.

Participants will learn how to use tools like TELPAS Confidential Student Reports, Proficiency Profiles, and linguistic accommodation banks to better implement the ELPS (English Language Proficiency Standards) and use PLDs (Proficiency Level Descriptors) in practical ways

Ultimately, participants will leave with an ability to use these resources to maximize the learning potential of the ELLs they serve.
