Identification and Assessment of G/T Students

Participants will examine the process of nominating, screening, selecting and placing students in gifted programs.

The Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students requires that "teachers who provide instruction and services that are a part of the program for gifted students have a minimum of thirty clock hours of staff development that includes nature and needs of gifted/talented students, assessing student needs, and curriculum and instruction for gifted students" (4.1A, p. 8).

This course is designed to partially fulfill this requirement while providing teachers with research-based, practical methods to serve gifted/talented learners in their classrooms.

This training is held in Taylor.
