ELPS Linguistic Instructional Alignment Guide Training

This on-line training is designed to help educators preview a new tool, the ELPS Linguistic Instructional Alignment Guide.  This guide will help educators effectively design and deliver instruction to better meet the needs of ELL students.  The training will provide an overview of the components of the guide, including the Proficiency Level Descriptors, the ELPS Student expectations for listening, speaking, reading and writing, the Career and College Readiness Standards (CCRS), and suggested teacher behaviors/linguistic accommodations.

Participants registered for the training will receive a copy of the linguistic guide in advance of the training.  Please also have your students TELPAS data by language domain.  This data may be retrieved from TELPAS confidential student rosters.

This web-based course can train individual participants on effective use of the LIAG as an instructional tool.  It can also serve as a trainer-of-trainers, enabling central office, instructional coaches, administrators, and/or other campus/district leaders to train teachers and staff on effective use of the LIAG as an instructional tool.
