SIRC Introductory Meetings

All principals of Stage 1, Year I campuses and those principals who are new to the School Improvement Program (SIP) are required to attend the School Improvement Resource Center's Introduction to the School Improvement Program meeting on September 13, 2010.   One district representative per district is invited to attend as well.   The purposes of the SIRC's Introductory Meeting include:

•  Learning the NCLB requirements for schools in Stages 1 through 5 of improvement.
•  Gaining a better understanding of the state and federal accountability systems.
• Understanding how the SIRC assists campuses in navigating through the requirements of the School Improvement Program.
• Discovering more about the Campus Administrator Mentoring Program and the Technical Assistance Provider program.
• Learning some practical strategies to utilize immediately upon returning to campus.

  Expenses incurred by attending this mandatory meeting, such as travel expenses, may be reimbursed with SIP funds once those funds are received by the campus.     Hotel rooms are available at the Hilton Austin Airport for $95/night.
