PBL for Diverse Learners: Managing PBL

Are you wondering how to effectively manage PBL projects to support a diverse group of learners?

Project Based Learning (PBL) allows students to learn through the use of projects and problem-solving. Projects are more than just engaging lessons. They include essential elements that raise the rigor of learning in the project. These series of lessons and activities incorporate opportunities for learners to make choices about how they work and present their findings, creating more buy-in. These projects are designed to be aligned with multiple standards, and often across multiple content areas.

This self-paced course takes you from planning to implementing the project with students. By the end of the course you will be able to:

  1. Select project management tools to ensure student learning throughout the PBL project.
  2. Develop tools and instructional strategies to encourage students to communicate and exchange ideas with one another.
  3. Identify methods for incorporating student choice during the planning and production phase of the PBL project.

This is the second course in the series PBL for Diverse Learners.

The first course, PBL for Diverse Learners: Planning PBL, focuses on understanding what makes a project PBL and guides you through the process of building a PBL experience for your students.
