G/T Online ESC 13: Research Skills for G/T Teachers, Spring 2017

In this e-course, participants will learn research skills and how to teach them to G/T students. Participants will learn ways of selecting research topics, how to ask provocative questions about their topics, how to create a research proposal, methods of conducting research, analysis and synthesis of data, and ways of presenting research results. Participants will learn how to teach their students to do all of these research activities. Learning ways to coach students at each stage of the research process, so that students become more self-reflective about their own thinking, is an integral part of the course. Objectives will be met through Internet research, engaging in other research-related activities, and practice in coaching students through simulated student/teacher encounters in each course section. Course content aligns with the

Texas Performance Standards Project. This e-course is aligned with standards set forth in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) §110.45. (14) (A – G)

This course is also appropriate as the required annual G/T 6-hour update.   Check your workshop access date and review the Participant Guides to help you get started in accessing your online course. This tutorial describes all the navigational features of the E-Campus online delivery system.
