CANCELED: Strategic Instruction: Listening and Note-Taking with Graphic Organizers

Learn how you can use Strategic Instruction to ensure all students learn and are engaged in the learning. By thinking about the impact of your teaching, you will understand learning through the eyes of the student. The Region 13 specialists on the Strategic Instruction team create presentations and learning opportunities for teachers to plan strategic instruction designed to maximize their impact on learning.

Listening and Note Taking with Graphic Organizers

A workshop teaching students to organize information by relationship and take more effective notes during class

You'll learn how to make your students better listeners through strategies which teach students to actively listen, recognize bad habits that can distract or interfere with their listening, and how to help your students practice better listening.

After that, you'll learn an organized system that helps students take better notes during your instruction. It's a system that's backed by plenty of research and that can be used with whatever note-taking method your students and you currently use (so you don't have to worry about throwing out a perfectly good system).

Additionally, everyone will receive instruction in the Order Routine, which helps students understand how key information from your lessons fit together.
