CANCELED - Focus On Algebra: Exponential Functions
The Focus on Algebra Workshop series is comprised of three trainings created by nationally known consultant Pam Weber Harris. Each workshop contains lessons, activities and strategies to help students develop a deeper understanding of Algebra. As part of the workshop participants also watch videos the activities in action in a classroom and discuss what the students know and discuss how to move students forward in their learning.
Focus on Algebra workshops are: Linear Functions, Quadratic Functions and Exponential Functions.
Focus on Algebra: Exponential Functions is two full days of professional development designed for teachers, teacher leaders and instructional coaches. This PD is a function-based approach to teaching algebra, with particular focus on exponential functions using the Algebra I TEKS. During the PD participants will analyze lessons, tasks, and teacher moves.Additionally, participants will discuss teaching English Language Learners and how to support students who may struggle in learning algebra.
