TRC Middle School Science Summer Institute
The Texas Regional Collaborative Science Summer Institutes are devoted to building teacher content knowledge and/or a toolkit of instructional strategies. We will explore ideas and strategies that promote student-centered instruction.   We will be using West Ed's Making Sense of Science: Planet Earth for this institute.  WestEd developed this training specifically for the TRC, and we are looking forward to turning it around so you can bring new knowledge to your classrooms!    From the Making Sense of Science Webpage: "Making Sense of SCIENCE (MSS) offers an approach to teacher learning that focuses on science understanding, classroom practice, literacy support, and pedagogical reasoning. In Making Sense of SCIENCE courses, inquiry-based science and pedagogy are interwoven, giving teachers the chance to not only investigate complex science as adult learners, but also to make the critical connections to their own classrooms necessary to teach students effectively."
These institutes are for grant participants.  If you are not part of the TRC grant but are interested in attending, please contact Shawna Wiebusch.
